Features

A practical, offline-first image labeling tool that lets you focus on your dataset — not on fighting a website.

Work fast, stay offline

BoundMi is built for labeling sprints where speed, control, and predictability matter. Launch the app, open a folder of images, and start drawing — that’s it. There’s no account wall, no surprise sync, and no fragile “workspace” that breaks when the internet hiccups. Because the tool is offline-first, it’s equally at home in an air-gapped lab, on a travel laptop, or in a studio where privacy policies are strict. Your data stays on your machine unless you explicitly send it elsewhere.

Annotation tools you’ll actually use

We focused on the tools that matter for the majority of real-world projects: rectangles for detection, polygons for segmentation, and clean keyboard-first editing. Shortcuts follow the muscle memory you already have (Ctrl+S to save, Ctrl+Z to undo, Delete to remove). Labels are searchable with autocomplete and color tags, and your project structure stays human-readable so teammates can pick it up quickly.

Optional AI assist (on your terms)

Some datasets benefit from a nudge. BoundMi lets you wire your own AI endpoint for proposals like suggested boxes or masks. Nothing leaves your machine unless you configure an endpoint and click the AI buttons. If you prefer a purely offline regime, skip the AI settings and keep labeling — the core experience remains unchanged.

Exports that fit your pipeline

Integrations should be boring and reliable. Projects are folders with JSON you can diff. Exports target formats your training stack already understands: COCO JSON, YOLO labels, and PNG masks for segmentation. If you need something special, scripts are trivial because the files are normal, readable data — no lock-in and no proprietary project database.

Designed for makers and scrappy teams

BoundMi keeps moving parts to a minimum. There’s no server to maintain, no database to tune, and no web tier to babysit. If you buy a license or an add-on, activation is a small one-time step tied to your device — after that, you can keep working offline. Finished projects can live in a private repo, on an encrypted drive, or in a folder you hand over to a training pipeline. It’s your call, because it’s your data.

Quality-of-life details

Why people switch to BoundMi

We hear the same refrain: “I just want a fast local tool that doesn’t fight me.” If you’ve wrestled with browser-based platforms that require a login, a running database, a queue worker, and a paid plan just to annotate a few hundred images, this will feel like fresh air. Local apps are still beloved for a reason: they launch fast, they’re dependable, and they keep your work close at hand.

Roadmap and add-ons

We ship small, steady improvements. Add-ons unlock focused capabilities — custom exporters, bulk utilities, or model prompts — without turning the core app into a kitchen sink. We’d rather make the main flow buttery than drown it in toggles you’ll never use.

Privacy by default

BoundMi doesn’t run a hosted project database and doesn’t sell user data. You can use the app indefinitely without touching the network. When you choose to activate a license or call an AI endpoint, that traffic goes over standard TLS, and you stay in control.

Get started in minutes

Download the build for your OS, open a folder of images, press V to draw with the mouse tool, and hit Ctrl+S to save. Exports live in a predictable exports/ subfolder. Connect an AI endpoint later if you want proposals — you’re never forced.
